The fine folks at One Project Closer are holding their annual summer Before and After contest and I’m happy to say that I was chosen as this week’s winner for my stair project. Click on the link above to go over and take a peek. My prize is a $50 giftcard to Lowes and they will donate $100 to Habitat for Humanity for me. Do ya think I can use that?
I see a power tool in my future. And I’ll be entered into the grand prize finale of a $150 giftcard, so I just may have to enlist YOUR help on that one. 🙂
If you missed my stair project, you can read all about it here, for the reveal and here for all the down and dirty tutorial. That was one major project, but I’m SO glad I tackled it. I enjoy it every single day as I come downstairs to my office nook.
Have a great weekend and I’ll see you back here for Thrifty Treasures Sunday evening!
Congrats!! A well deserved win.. the stairs are phenominal!!
Congratulations! I love the stairs – they look so homey! I especially like your brand of southern style. Can’t wait to see what you do next. 🙂
It’s absolutely beautiful. Well done!
I loved this staircase project and remember it well! Congratulations!
I’m not surprised, Rhoda! It’s such a beautiful project, how could you not win? 😉 I have a feeling that $50 card won’t last very long! 🙂
Congrats! Well deserved win.
Congrats! Can’t say that I’m really surprised though. 🙂
I love it! I got my “One Project Closer” email this morning and started reading it. (Been thinking of doing something like this to our entrance foyer, but afraid of what was under the carpet.) And I thought, “Yeah! I know her! Congradulations! You did a great job. This will be bookmarked and saved for sure!
Congrats! I loved how your stairs came out.
Our stairs right now looks exactly like the BEFORE picture! I guess a makeover is on the way and it got it’s cue from an award-winning stair project. Thanks for this.
Rhoda, Congratulation on a well deserved win. I’ll be cheering for you to win the grand prize.
xo, Sherry
Congratulations Rhoda. ‘About time you are recognized for being one talented, hard working lady!
Oh Rhoda that is awesome! I’m so happy you won and hope you win the 150.00 one as well! You sound like me, my next power tool will be a battery operated screwdriver. We have a drill that I use but when I am using the drill to drill holes I am constantly having to take the bit out and put the phillip screw head into it. So I know what I would buy if I won that! CONGRATS again!!!
How cool is that?? Congratulations!! Great job on a great project!
I need to start my own tool box collection instead of adding things to a “honey do” list that’s never ending. My sweet hubby does anything I need *eventually* & he does a fabulous job… I just need to be more considerate of his time away from work.
I hope you win the $150, too!!
Congratulations! I love how your stairs turned out.
No wonder you won the contest – your project turned out amazing! When I was looking at the “during” pictures, I started to feel nauseated. I probably would have done one of two things: 1) throw up my hands in frustration and leave the project half done or 2) call a professional to finish the project ($$$) five years down the road. I admire your determination and perseverance! Congratulations 🙂
Congratulations on being this week’s winner. You did a great job. Not only does it look gorgeous, but it shows perseverance and creativity. I love it! Lisa~
I really like your post. The stair case carpet is lovely.

I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned but I love that pictures. I literally say there for minutes scrolling up and down, the horizontal stairs and vertical rug makes it look like an optical illusion. Childish I know but how often can you bring that out with decor unless your doing a child’s room. 🙂 Figured Id let you know how cool it was. And CONGRATS on winning.
Hi, Brittaini, I noticed that too! Fun to play with it.
Congrats Rhoda! What a nice way to receive a kudos! Your stairs were one of my fav project of yours. Good luck in the finals!
