Wow, thank you ALL for showing up for the giveaway. Ya’ll sure wanted you some pretty glasses and I can’t say that I blame you. I’m so glad you enjoyed My Sparrow and took a look around, some beautiful things in her shop, for sure. So, now for the giveaway winner: Megan with Cottage Bluebird is our winner! Megan, please email me and send me your mailing address and I’ll pass your info on to Christina, so you can get those beautiful tumblers.
It wasn’t a terribly exciting yardsale weekend, but I found a few useful things, like these green acrylic glasses for 25 cents each. I think they match that pitcher I found recently too.
Always on the lookout for good books, this is one I haven’t read by one of my fave authors. I may save it for our beach trip that’s coming up in September. There’s nothing better than sitting on the beach reading a good book. We decided to wait til school starts and take our beach trip later this year.
And I love to find workout clothes in great condition for cheap. These 3 Nike workout tops were $1 each, much better than paying even TJ Maxx prices and these are all in near perfect condition. I will put them to good use very soon. And last for this week, an Eddie Bauer denim skirt for $3. I have a few Eddie Bauer pieces and they are very well made and great quality. Just my size too. They all got washed in the washing machine as soon as I got home and then into my closet.
So, that’s it for me this week. Oh, and remember that Sid Dickens tile I found a couple weeks ago for $3?? Sold it on Ebay for $147, quite a turn around, don’t you think?
I’ll have a few more posts this week and then we are heading up to my parent’s house in NC for a few days. Eating veggies and visiting. I hear tell we are having a fish fry with homemade ice cream one day. Yippee! 🙂
How about YOU? Did you get out and about this weekend and find any treasures. You know the drill!
So, get ready to share your treasures too. Remember our guidelines for Mr. Linky parties:
- Enter your permalink to your thrifty post and NOT just your blog url. If you aren’t sure how to do that, please refer back to last week’s party. All links that do not go to your party post will be deleted.
- Please add a link back to THIS post, so that all your readers can find the party and join in or at least read about all the fun that everyone else had, or I’ll have to delete those too.
- If you come back & your link is deleted, it’s because your link was incorrect (and I couldn’t identify it) OR you didn’t link back to this party. Please try again!

Hi, Rhoda! Thanks for hosting. 🙂
I really like your green acrylic glasses. I have the hardest time saving a book for vacation. I can do it, but it takes some real self control. 🙂 The denim skirt is adorable. I love wearing those in the Fall. Good finds!
Mine were all unexpected this weekend…wasn’t planning on hitting any yard sales, but…well, you’ll see if you have a chance to read my link this week. 🙂
I will go back and put your permalink on my sidebar. thanks for being our hostess..I know some of us…are a pain.
Hey Ms. Rhoda. I’m #7 I guess I’m moving on up the list there. 🙂 Love your finds today. You always find the best stuff.
Well, what happened it? It was showing me at #7. Hmmm
There you go getting those great bargains on clothes again.
Thanks for hosting again.
Great finds, this week, Rhoda. I really like Eddie Bauer and shop the outlet at the lake, every now and then.
I enjoy reading John Grisham. Haven’t read this one, though.
I did a little recap for thrifty things this week. Still thrifty, just not “new”!
Your trip to your folks sounds lovely.
Hi Rhoda,
Looks like you found some great deals … as always! I like acrylic glasses too (always on the lookout for fun colors and shapes while thrifting). They’re so much safer than taking glass ones outside & risking breakage on hard surfaces, As you know, they’re perfect for use on patios, in pools, hot tubs, etc.
Loved your “Grandma Eleanor” slipcover post. She’s remarkable!
Thank you for hosting. It’s always fun to be a guest at your wonderful parties!

Rhoda, I loved your Grandma Eleanor post and can’t wait to see the end result. She’s a cutie. My MIL is 91 and doing pretty well (nice legs, too!). We love the beach in October – no crowds and no sweating! Thanks for hosting and for always posting early! Linda
great finds!! and congratulations on the sid dickens tile. that is just amazing!
Rhoda, You made out like a bandit selling that tile for $147!!! Woo Hoo…. Pays to have a good eye and some background knowledge!
Looks like a good book you found there. I like Grisham, but haven’t read this one. As usual, you found cute clothing! I’m looking forward to seeing what Grandma Eleanor does to finish up your chair. It’s terrific that she is as spry and mentally alert as she is. Your hubs has some good genes, there…. 🙂
Sue
Rhoda, my daughter loves Grishom! She just found a book on tape at Goodwill “The Steet Lawyer” which she’s really enjoying!
I used to love th Eddie Bauer store we had at the mall. But it closed several years ago.
Thanks for hosting!
Manuela
WOO HOO!!!
The thought of a fish fry makes me happy 🙂 You’re going to have such a good time!
Hi Rhoda,
So you workout! Good on ye! I only buy the workout clothes and then my plans to go and be active are somewhere lost in good intentions. Ah well, more time to blog.
I did enter my post somewhere when I was number 12 but it doesn’t show up! Anything I should be doing differently?
Love the glasses!!!!!!!!!
Wow! Love your eBay success story! That EB skirt is so cute–no picture of you in it? I wish I was going to the beach next month–I have several books that would be perfect.
Thanks, Rhoda, for being such a gracious hostess every week…

I’m glad you were able to find a few things! I didn’t make it to any g-sales, but did go to the flea market in the cattle barns in Ft. Worth today. I bought a vintage sewing machine drawer ($4…I normally see them from $15-$25) and a couple of wooden apples for .50 each…nothing exciting enough to blog about though. ha
Love all of your wonderful finds. Your workout clothes and skirt are really cute. Great buys. Hugs, Marty
Well Rhoda, I won’t link because I am bad about keeping up my blog anymore. My 17 year old step daughter moved in with us earlier this summer. Poor kid hardly had any clothes so I have been scouring garage sales. Well, last Thursday I hit pay dirt! At one garage sale, I bought 37 name brand (Gap, Old Navy, Abercrombie, Eddie Bauer) shirts and sweaters for her. I paid just $46 for items that mainly were brand new with the tags still on. (The lady told me she had a shopping problem.) I felt sorry for her, but I sure did score for my step-daughter!!!
