Thrifty Treasures

I found a few things last weekend that I didn’t have time to share, so those are going in here today, as well as a few things I picked up on Saturday, in spite of the rainclouds that hovered over Birmingham all day.  Luckily, it was only misting when I went out bright and early to a neighborhood yardsale at Eagle Point.  I’m sure all the houses weren’t open, but there were plenty of people milling about, even in the inclement weather.  That’s how you can spot a die-hard yardsaler!  🙂

I found this pretty set of framed prints of the French Quarter in New Orleans, $5 for the pair.

Loved these!

All three of these pretty mercury glass balls, which I already have some of, were $4.  I use them at Christmas for decorating.

Larry Levine jacket was $3.  Love the style of it.

My very own tool box, for $2.  It’s a good one and now I can keep my tools organized, instead of strewn all over the house.

Really cute Chico’s skirt for $5, more than I normally pay, but it’s worth it for this brand.  Can you tell I love black and white? 🙂

Sweet little framed crosstitch for hubby’s office of the AL elephant.  Roll Tide!$2.50

Almost 2 yards of this pretty black floral fabric for $2.50, which I’ll use on a porch, if we ever get one.

And last, a pretty aqua ceramic planter for 25 cents!  I’ll definitely plant something in this.

I can’t wait to show you the chair makeover that I did on that cute chair I found a couple weeks ago, remember?!!  Come back this week for the whole story, you’re gonna love it. 🙂

So, now it’s YOUR turn for the party this week! What have YOU found lately. Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. Last year, I can’t tell you how many links I had to fix. This year I might get mean & delete them, so PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! 🙂
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines.

You got some great treasures, Rhoda. Thought about your this weekend as we saw the Birmingham sign en route to Atlanta this weekend to attend the Beth Moore conference with my daughters and also visit the Lady Diana exhibit. My girls both said that they would love to visit Birmingham some day. Road trip….. Love & blessings from NC!

You found some beautiful things! I love the art. So, I was wondering about buying art at garage sales…I saw several oil and watercolor paintings (smaller sizes) that I liked and they were all marked about $7-$8. I didn’t buy any. Is that about what I should expect to pay?

You found some great treasures this week. I think my favorite are the mercury glass balls, but the art is a close second. Thanks for hosting such a fun party every week.

Rhoda, I haven’t been out shopping so have nothing to share, but it sure is fun to see the things you found. Terrific buys! I’ll try to remember to link to this if I get myself out to some thrift shops in days to come. It’s one of my favorite things to do, but just haven’t had the time lately. Thanks for sharing and for hosting the meme.
