I found a few things last weekend that I didn’t have time to share, so those are going in here today, as well as a few things I picked up on Saturday, in spite of the rainclouds that hovered over Birmingham all day. Luckily, it was only misting when I went out bright and early to a neighborhood yardsale at Eagle Point. I’m sure all the houses weren’t open, but there were plenty of people milling about, even in the inclement weather. That’s how you can spot a die-hard yardsaler! 🙂
I found this pretty set of framed prints of the French Quarter in New Orleans, $5 for the pair.
Loved these!
All three of these pretty mercury glass balls, which I already have some of, were $4. I use them at Christmas for decorating.
Larry Levine jacket was $3. Love the style of it.
My very own tool box, for $2. It’s a good one and now I can keep my tools organized, instead of strewn all over the house.
Really cute Chico’s skirt for $5, more than I normally pay, but it’s worth it for this brand. Can you tell I love black and white? 🙂
Sweet little framed crosstitch for hubby’s office of the AL elephant. Roll Tide!$2.50
Almost 2 yards of this pretty black floral fabric for $2.50, which I’ll use on a porch, if we ever get one.
And last, a pretty aqua ceramic planter for 25 cents! I’ll definitely plant something in this.
I can’t wait to show you the chair makeover that I did on that cute chair I found a couple weeks ago, remember?!! Come back this week for the whole story, you’re gonna love it. 🙂
So, now it’s YOUR turn for the party this week! What have YOU found lately. Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:
- Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. Last year, I can’t tell you how many links I had to fix. This year I might get mean & delete them, so PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! 🙂
- Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
- Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines.
Let’s have some fun this week with the Thrifty Treasures party!

you find the nicest stuff!
just curious, I am seeing some really junky sales this year, is it just an Oklahoma thing or do see much junk at Alabama sales too?
Rhoda says
Rhonda, there is always, always plenty of junk at the yardsales! You just have to be willing to get out there & look for the treasures. Believe me, it’s not all great stuff. I hunt down the deals & good items.

Hi Rhoda,
It was so nice to meet you this morning in small group! We really enjoyed the lesson…your hubby is a very good teacher. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed, too…it’s hard to enter into a new situation, but all of you made it so easy for us!
I can’t believe you went yardsaling in that weather on Saturday, but you got some great things! Those prints are especially nice! Have a great week…hope to see you next Sunday!

Rhoda, Oh yeah you can find those treasures. Your finds are always so classy. Love the skirt and the material you found, those prints are awesome too. thanks for hosting yet another Thrifty treasures party, it is so much fun to see everyone’s finds. I found a darling box with bunnies painted on it, thought of you, found it at “A Classy Flea” in Marietta. I bet you have heard of that place. I loved the place, stopped there on my way to Chattanooga, Atlanta seems like such a great place for thrifty treasures. the bunny box is on my post. Happy hunting, Marla
Susan at Charm of the Carolines says
Happy to hear you didn’t blow away while treasure hunting this weekend! Love your finds.
I must apologize. I linked up the wrong post this morning, pre-coffee. The correct one is posted now.
Thank you for the linky opportunity!

Heather says
Your prints are by an artist named Don (maybe it’s Dan?) Davey. I have a set of four that I found at the Disabled Vets thrift store here in Nashville. Love them, especially after I reframed them in black and gold to match my powder room.
Rhoda says
Heather, they were marked so I looked him up, You are correct, it’s Don Davey from 1966. They don’t appear to be all that valuable from what I saw online, but they are very pretty, so I’ll just keep them.
Designs on 47th Street says
Rhoda, It’s simply amazing what we can find out there, isn’t it? Your framed art is a great find! Also love the aqua pot and that fabric! Oh, and that jacket! You had a good shopping time, didn’t you? 😉
