Holiday: A Giveaway

Giveaway is Closed

After much anticipation by all, the beautifully designed issues of Holiday magazine by Matthew Mead have arrived. After preordering earlier this year, I just received my copy in the last couple of days and have flipped through the gorgeous pages and will set aside time to read each and every entry. It’s 146 pages of pure Christmas magic and beauty and I really think that you’ll all enjoy it tremendously. It’s only available through the Holiday website at this time, no copies will be on the newsstands. This is the very first issue and we hope there are more!

Not your typical glossy magazine, this is really more of a book, with matte pages and beautifully photographed Christmas rooms and ideas. Chock full of crafts, recipes, vignettes and more, it is sure to be a book to turn to for Holiday inspiration for years to come.

Matthew is completely an artist when it comes to styling photos and vignettes.  Second to none and you can see his well-known work all over the pages.  Matthew has been involved in magazines  for so many years and is a master. You’ll find loads of inspiration for your own Christmas style.

Page after page of beauty and tempting ideas.

And you won’t find all the ads in between stories like normal magazines.  There are a few at the back and mostly small women-owned shops are featured.  Several bloggers (including myself) are featured in a few pages and Christmas craft ideas from our blogs were used as inspiration.  So, if you need some fresh new ideas this year, I think you’re in luck.  Matthew and company have asked me to give away ONE copy of Holiday to one of you.  If you already have a copy, please don’t sign up.  I’d love for someone who does not already own one, to win this time!

Thanks so much!  Just leave a comment and tell me what sort of ideas you have this year for Christmas decorating.  Are you changing things up or doing what you always do?

Me, I always have to change things up some just to keep things fresh and new!

NOTE:  If you are reading this by email subscription, please DO NOT email me back for the giveaway.  As always, you will need to leave comments on THIS post to be eligible for the magazine!  Thanks so much!

I’ve got a few giveaways going on this week and last, so bear with me.  They’re all good ones, so I hope you enjoy.  I’ll pick a winner on Wednesday evening.

I will be doing the same ‘ol thing. Snowman tree downstairs and my sentimental tree upstairs with the angel topper my grandmother used with my mom and her sisters. Have a wonderful week!

I can’t wait to receive my copy. I hope it is not lost!!! Please don’t enter me in the contest because I did order one. You are going to make someone very happy, Rhoda, because it looks like a lovely publication. I have been a fan of Matthew Mead’s for years, since he was with Mary Emmerling at her magazine. Thanks so much for the preview!

I would love to win Matthew’s book! For the first time in 14 Christmas years we are in a different house (and state!) We will have to down-size our tree (no 13 foot ceiling here) and we only have one mantle, not two. I will have to intentionally choose the best from our boxes to make this place feel like “home”. Thanks for your give-away, and have a wonderful holiday season!

Oh I would love to be inspired for this holiday season. I love the colors in the pictures. I’ve had the same decorations for years now and I’m ready to make a change. 🙂

I’m thinking about leaving all the ornaments in the closet this year and just using natural stuff to decorate the tree. I would love a copy of this book.

I would so love to flip through Matthew’s book, with a pad & pen and a cup of tea.
We’re in a new home and I’m in dire need of ideas. All our old decorations and usual places to put them are not in front of me for decorating, and I’m frozen with uncertainty about how to use what I’ve already got in this lovely new space. I want to line our nest with holiday sweetness that will make our hearts sigh and settle deeply into the cushions of the couch for the whole season.

This creative goddess will, as always, change the placement of my holiday decor this year but I have made a deciison to take a different approach this season for the sake of my sanity, my future well being and my family who thinks I am out of control, especially this time of the year.
I am going to use what “self control” I can find as I go through the 50 plus boxes of treasures and then talk myself out of displaying on every tabletop and every inch of space inside our home. This year, the plans are to select the most special pieces and try a “less is more approach! I am turning 60 on Christmas Day and it is time to de-clutter my life and my décor by using only the items that speak to my heart and not my creative side! The other items not chosen will be lovingly passed forward to family, friends or our local home shelter. Wish me luck!
I just know this is going to be my best Christmas ever!

Rhoda, I would surely love a copy. I guess I will order one if I don’t win. I usually change things each year and really don’t know what I’m doing until I start pulling all the stuff out. I usually buy a few new pieces or ornaments each year to add to my collection.
