I’m so happy and excited to be participating in Gina’s Summer tour of Homes this year. She’s the brainstorm behind this fun event and 26 bloggers will be sharing their homes with blogland, all this week. If you’ve missed them, you can see the list of bloggers here, so be sure and go back and catch up.
If you are coming over from Brittany at Pretty Handy Girl, WELCOME! I’m so glad you stopped by.
I’m so dang excited that I have a home that I can put in a tour this year. After 6 months of renovations, it all paid off and now I’m enjoying my cute home, sweet home….for sure!
Come on in and take a look around.
If you are new to my blog, WELCOME! I’m so glad you are here. A little about me. I bought a 1979 fixer upper house in April of 2012 and my dad and I spent 6 months renovating it. Move in was October 2012 and I’ve spent the last 6 months putting all my rooms together. I’m almost there with most of them and right now am working on my screened porch. Hope you enjoy the tour and please come back again!

Thank you ALL so much for stopping by! I’m so happy to meet you and hope you’ll come back again. I love home decor and making rooms beautiful and strive to make my home as beautiful as it can be. I love sharing inspiration with blogland and have been blogging for 6 years.
My complete Home Tour with links to individual posts might be helpful for answering any questions.
I also did a video a few months ago, showing my house mostly done. This video was for an HGTV submission (nothing came of it), so I did a little tour of my house, talking about how long I’ve been decorating and lots of things I’ve done in my house, so you might enjoy this one! And you can hear my Southern drawl, up close and personal. 🙂
Please make yourself at home at Southern Hospitality!
The next stop on the tour is my friend, Traci at Beneath my Heart. She’s been working on a big renovation as well, so I hope you’ll stop over and see her gorgeous home too!
In fact, here are the complete list of bloggers posting their home tours today, so check them all out!
DAY 4 (June 6th)
And don’t forget that on Friday, you can link up your own home tour over at Gina’s The Shabby Creek Cottage ! There will be SO much inspiration that you’ll be looking for days. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
Again, here is the entire list of 26 bloggers participating in the tour, so don’t miss a one. You’re going to love all the talent in this group of bloggers!
I’m going to Florida on Friday for a few days, but will still have some things up next week, but I’m going to skip Feature Friday this week and you’ll have all weekend to check out the home tour links. That should keep you busy for days!
Okay. That was just fun. Loved seeing all of your gorgeous rooms. Thanks, Rhoda!
Wow, Rhoda! I just love all that you’ve done! You are so stinking amazing. 🙂 I hope I get to see it IRL soon.
Love you!
Rhoda, you and your father did a beautiful job on your home. I really like your home office! You have a talent for mixing patterns together beautifully. Thanks for the tour!
Oh, this is absolutely gorgeous, Rhoda! You’ve done such a beautiful job. A wonderful combination of chic and comfortable!
HI, Mary! Thank you so much for leaving me a comment. I hope you are well!
Sooo beautiful!! What color is the wall color in the den?
HI, Sherry, that is Comfort Gray by Sherwin Williams.
Hi Rhoda, What a great house tour!! I watched the video too. Everything just flows in your house so beautifully. Pat yourself on the back and give your Daddy a big hug from all of us. He is truly a remarkable man. Oh, wait… Thank your sweet Momma too, for sharing him with you… And all of us as well. Happy Summer! Please tell all your blog friends I am enjoying all the house tours! Lovin’ it! ~ Nancy from OHIO
Thank you, Nancy, you are always so sweet!
Awwwe…..shux! Thank you!! I am off to finish today’s line up of houses! ~~Nancy from OHIO
Hi Rhoda! Love your home! Especially your textile choices. Your drapes and pillows are to die for. I’m so excited to see your kitchen and bath featured in BH&G’s mags! 🙂
I really like way your laundry room turned out.
It’s fabulous Rhoda!!! I adore your style! I’m more of a traditional style girl myself, so your style suits me to a tee! I followed along with your renovation and it’s wonderful to see it all so beautifully decorated now!
Your home is soo beautiful! My favorite of course is the kitchen but everything is truly beautiful! If you don’t mind me asking, I was wondering are your floors laminate or real hardwood? They are so pretty and I’m thinking about saving up for laminate
Hi, Cristal, thank you so much for the compliments. My floors are engineered hardwoods, meaning that the top layer is real wood and underneath is a layer of something like plywood, not really sure exactly, but it is not super thick like 3/4″ hardwoods, but thinner. But, the top layer is definitely real wood unlike laminate. I love my floors so much, they are from Shaw Flooring & called Broadmoor Mocha. There are 3 sizes of planks and I was really drawn to them when I saw them in an idea house.
HI – I’ve been following your blog for about 2 1/2 years and have learned so much – from you as well as from other bloggers you have introduced! I’ve been inspired by and tried several of your decorating tips, projects and suggestions. The most helpful was making a cornice board from foam board – did that for my last grandbaby’s nursery. Wish I could show it to you – turned out so cute!! I feel a connection with you not only as a sister in Christ, but am also a “PK” !! I so appreciate the testimony you boldly proclaim on your blog. I just listened to the video posted on today’s blog and now I REALLY feel like I know you so much better having heard your voice!! I feel like we’ve met in person now!
Beautiful! I like the mudroom and old wood style desk etc.
Hi Rhoda,
I have followed your house renovations all the way through, they amazed me and I was so excited each week to see what you and your dad had achieved. Your father must be an inspiration to people of his age.
I love the idea of the video you put together, it makes it so personal and now I feel I know you even better, love that Southern accent which we don’t hear much of in New Zealand, if any.
Thank you again for all the time and effort you have put into this post. You have a wonderful home and I am so pleased your love of design is now paying off.
Lee & Poppy 🙂
Your blog is one of my favorites. Your laundry room is absolutely amazing and I’m saying this having seen it on your blog before! I would never have thought it possible seeing the before. I also love your den. It is the most inviting of all your rooms. Thanks for sharing.
I loved the tour Rhoda and really enjoyed your video. I am going to try to get around and see all the homes. I’ve seen a few this evening and will do more over the next few days. Fun link event!
