This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now. I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU! If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.
Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today. I’ve often wondered who all is reading. You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often. Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂 Then, you come out of the woodwork.
So, today is all about YOU! Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife. If you don’t mind sharing. I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.
OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself. We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.
And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.
Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂 I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school. I will be 53 in December.

Hi Rhoda! I’m Amy, I just turned 40 last week. I found your blog thru Kelly’s Korner blog. I love, LOVE your decorating and even had a list ready to email you and hire you to help me decorate my living room. Then we found out we were moving…so this Friday I’ll be moving from Bettendorf, IA to Springfield, MO. It’s a good thing! It’s a transfer for my hubby’s job, we have three boys and a girl and I stay at home and love it! So, give me a chance to get settled and I’ll probably be shooting you an email. This new house is totally different than any of my former houses, at least as far as colors, so I will be at a loss for sure! I love all of your ideas but especially the things that you do with your garage sale treasures. It motivates me to stay frugal! –Amy
Hi Rhoda,
My name is Karen and I live in Guntersville, AL. My husband and I moved here two years ago from Long Island, NY. I’m 61 and retired (we moved here after I retired) and have two dogs, a rescued mixed breed and a rescued German Shepherd. Both my hubby are really happy we made this move to Alabama. We enjoy where we live and have met some wonderful people.
I’m mostly a lurker and have been since the middle of 2008. I believe I found your blog from Christy Jordan’s Southern Plate.
I enjoy reading your blog and getting ideas on decorating. I love how you have decorated your home and helped others decorate theirs. I also enjoy reading all about your thrifty finds and how you transform. I also like reading about your family, your neighborhood and the Birmingham area that you share with us.
Thanks,
Karen

Hi! My name is Dawn and I’m a 35 year old stay at home mom to two children, 9 & 4. I live just south of Atlanta, GA. I am hoping to re-enter the workforce very soon!!!!
Nice to meet you, Rhoda!
Hello, I’m Marcy. I’m a 41 yr. old at home mom of my 15 yr. old daughter. I live in Texas in the Dallas area. I found your blog just before Christmas last year when I googled “decorating with plates” because I wondered if anyone but me had a thing for hanging plates everywhere (Blue Willow is my addiction). I absolutely love Southern Traditional decorating and really want my home to have “southern elegance”. I had never even heard of decorating blogs – your website opened up a whole new world to me. I was beginning to wonder if something was wrong with me for being obsessed with decorating and then I read your profile and suddenly found a label – I am “feathering my nest”. I’m a Christian and enjoy that part of your blog as well. I am slowly but surely going back through all of your past posts to make sure I haven’t missed anything wonderful. Thanks for sharing your home.
Hi there! I’m Liz, wife to a Marine and mama to two little girls aged 4 and 1. We currently live in Baton Rouge…I’m not for sure for sure but I think I found you through Kelly’s Korner. =)
Hi Rhoda,
I am a southern gal who has been transplanted to the cold state of Indiana. Your blog makes me feel like I am visiting the south. I love your decorating style and you have inspired me to be creative and to make my home a fun place to be. When I am not taking care of my husband and kids, I work as a therapist with autistic children. Thanks for all you do.
Trish

I work outside the home and in my spare time I cook and clean and garage sale and try to make our home beautiful. I like your blog because it reminds me of home. Keep it up!
hi Rhoda!
I’m gail, MRL I’m 52, from Louisville KY. I have one beautiful daughter (27). In the last few years, lots of changes for me. Daughter moved away, I separated from my husband of 29 years, and I lost my job of 19 years.(pre-k teacher) Even with all those changes, life is good!
I am a new follower of your blog, but I love it! I’ve never really been a blog reader until this past summer. I don’t know what took me so long to find you! 🙂 But glad I did!
I am a 42 year old second grade teacher who lives in Iowa, but lived in Georgia for 15 years before moving to Iowa three years ago.
Hi Wendy-
Saw your comment on Rhoda’s blog and wanted to say HI. Hope that’s not wierd but I am a former teacher, I lived in Georgia for 10 years and have been in Iowa for 10 as well. I hate the winter’s here but the other seasons are not so bad. Hope you have adjusted to the weather and life far away from beaches!
Hi, I’m Heather. I’m 32 and live in Massachusetts, west of Boston. I found your blog from the DIY show-off when she showcased your kitchen cabinets. I’m a product manager and work in the semi-conductor industry – with such a technical job I like to be creative in my spare time and love reading blogs, like yours, to get inspiration!
Hello Rhoda,
My name is Jane(been called Jean way too often). I live in Glenwood,NJ,am married to my high school sweetheart, and have 3 children(15,12&8). Oh, and a pug Rolex. I recently went back to work part time in the local school district. I absolutely love your blog and stumbled upon it over 6 months ago. I look forward to reading it and if I can, I read it every day. I love decorating and have been so inspired by you. I even went to a few yard sales this summer (something I was raised doing and swore I’d never do when I was older) I really had fun and found some neat things. We share similar styles and tastes. I must admit your laundry is my dream. I will get there. Thanks for sharing and being part of my day (the part that inspires my to change things, recreate things,go to yard sales and just makes me happy) You truely have a gift. Keep on sharing- I love it!!!!
Jane
