I’m back today with the final Christmas decorating post for the season. I have shared most all of the Holiday decorating I’ve done around here and wanted to hone in today on the staircase garland. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in our front door and I loved having a staircase to actually add garland to. It’s prelit so lights up at night on a timer, creating a magical glow in the house.
From the living room to the front door, the stairs are front and center.
Extra pretty with the front door open and the stairs right there in front.
I used two 12′ lengths of Tree Classics Classic Fraser Fir Festive garlands on the stairs and simply placed them on top of the railing and added zip ties to keep them in place.
Fluffing all the branches makes them stand up and out and looking beautiful.
At the bottom of the railing, I added an additional faux spray with berries and pinecones, adding more texture to the bow and bells.
I picked some magnolia leaves from the woods behind us and they are the perfect accent with faux garlands to add some extra “real” texture” and besides, magnolia is just so Southern! I had this black and white ribbon already so made myself a bow to pretty it up. And I ordered those brass bells last year after Christmas after seeing them on another blogger’s Christmas tour. I couldn’t wait to use them this year and this is the perfect spot for them!
A peek all the way up the stairs.
You can get a good look at all the different textures in the garland
With lime green foilage mixed in with pinecones and gold berries, it’s a beautiful garland for the Holiday season.
These beautiful ornaments are from Tree Classics too and I really love them in mercury glass. Their large size really makes a statement too and it was easy to hang them from the garland all the way up the staircase.
See how pretty these ornaments are?
At the top of the stairs, I added these three glittery gold grapevine stars that I’ve had for over 20 years. I love getting them out each year and finding a new spot for them this year.
The garland with all those beautiful gold and silver glass ornaments makes our house glow at night with all the sparkle and shine.
We’ve so enjoyed having our house all decked out for the Christmas season and I know it will seem bare when we go back to regular decor. But that’s what this time of year is all about. Enjoying the festive cheer that comes along with Christmas.
One more peek at the tree in the living room with the additional of a pretty capiz shell Bethlehem star from Tree Classics. It’s so pretty and much bigger than the other star I had.
So that’s a look at how I used two lengths of garland on our staircase this year to up the festive and fun factor with our Christmas house this year. I hope you all enjoy this last week before Christmas and make the most of it. We sure are going to savor every single day before Christmas arrives! Lauren and her family arrive home tomorrow and we can’t wait to spend time with those girls!
Merry Christmas to you all!
