Feature Friday: Marc Jones New Christmas House Part 1

I’m excited to share a brand new Feature Friday with you today and many of you who have been following me for years will remember Marc Jones, who is my sister’s former neighbor. I photographed his house twice years ago and you can see that house in these posts. I think my photography is even better now than it was then and I’m using my iPhone 11 Pro Max for most of my photos now:

Part 1 (2011)

Part 2

Part 3 The fabulous finished basement

Update 12/13 Tour

Since then, Marc went through a stressful divorce and sold that house and moved into a new smaller house in the last couple years. I was so happy to see him get settled in a new place that suits him just perfectly. Marc is a wonderful designer, very talented with layering new and old and is a master at using vintage pieces and mixing patterns. His home is just beautiful and I know you’ll enjoy seeing all the details he adds for Christmas. Marc has quite the collection of Christmas decor and every inch of his house is festive for the Holiday season. Buckle up for a fun and festive ride. I’ll share Part 1 today and then I’ll be back next week for Part 2. I’ll actually post it on Thursday next week since Friday is Christmas.

Known as The Consignor’s Designer, you can find Marc on Facebook, so check out his page and he also styles Southern Comforts Consignment stores, there are 3 in the Atlanta area.

Marc’s new house is really cute and I loved the dark gray paint, white trim and yellow door.

Marc’s exterior is very festive too with the carolers and garland on the posts.

Here’s Marc, a talented designer. Enjoy the tour and leave him lots of comments, I know he’ll be reading them all. I’ll not try to chat throughout the tour. He has so many interesting things to see.

You will recognize many pieces from his former home and how he’s used them here.

I hope you enjoyed Part 1 of Marc’s house as much as I enjoyed taking pics. It’s an outstanding display of Christmas cheer.

Don’t miss Part 2, sharing the upstairs bedrooms and screened porch in the backyard.

Looking forward to seeing more! Remember tours of his previous home.
Question: I have noticed in this tour and in your own home a cabinet placed directly in front of a window. All my pieces like that have ugly pressboard or a very unfinished look on the back. Do you do something to cover it? I’m hesitant to place pieces like that in front of windows as I feel it’ll look tacky from the outside of the house.

HI, Gina, I don’t have any tall cabinet pieces in front of a window so not sure what you mean.

I love Marc’s designing style. However, I found my eyes had no place to rest. I felt it was over decorated.

Merry Christmas to you and yours…..I decorated the way I like the holidays to be done. For me, it’s like old friends that I only see once a year. It’s very “restful” and joyful for me. But to each his own.

Your opinion and you are welcome to it….when it comes to the holidays and if you ever attended one of my design events I do for Southern Comforts Consignment you would know my mantra for Christmas decor is….”it ain’t done until it’s overdone”…LOL. Merry Christmas to you, I can appreciate a minimalist just not for myself.

I think your home is amazing, like I said it’s one of my traditions to go back and look at Rhodas previous visits because it’s just amazing and makes me so happy. I do not believe it’s overdone, I think it’s just right.

Absolutely stunning! I have at least a dozen storage bins for my Christmas decorations and it’s a fraction of what he has displayed. He must need a storage unit for all his decorations. Thanks for sharing his beautiful home!

Merry Christmas Marc, your home is beautiful. My favorite is the mantle but the trees are a close second. Thank you for allowing Rhodes to share with her readers.

Thanks Rhoda, once again you have outdone yourself on photographing my home. Thanks all for the kind words. This year even more than others I needed a lot of Christmas cheer around me. It may not be for everyone but I think the majority of folks love Christmas done in a big way….”it ain’t done until it’s overdone”….that’s my view of Christmas decor. LOL Join me daily on my design page, Marc Jones, the Consignor’s Designer on Facebook. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
